PURPOSE:To block the floating force of a die holder by generating the clamping force of dies by means of link mechanisms, obtaining the large stroke for opening and closing the dies and pressing downward the die holder when the clamping force is generated. CONSTITUTION:A blank material for forging is put into the space formed of front and rear segmental dies 2, 2' and a lower punch 1' and pressure oil is fed into a pull cylinder 12 to press and advance a front die holder 10. A space wedge 13 is then advanced by a cylinder 14 and at the same time a wedge 6 for clamping is advanced by a cylinder 7. The dies 2, 2' are pressed and clamped diagonally downward in an arrow direction by the high clamping force generated by link mechanisms 5-3-4, 4'. A wedge 15 is then slid by the cylinder to move upward a lifting block 16 and to thrust up the lower punch 1' and at the same time to lower an upper punch 1 attached to an upper die holder thereby molding the blank material.
