PURPOSE:To prevent an ink ribbon from sagging at a ribbon end detecting position, by a construction wherein a ribbon passage provided in a ribbon cassette is deflected plural times to the same side in proximity to a ribbon end detecting position. CONSTITUTION:The passage of an unused ribbon 3 is sequentially deflected to the same side by guide members 4, 5, 6. A surface of the guide member 5 making contact with the ribbon is a flat surface, and light emitted from the ribbon end detector 19a is reflected by the unused ribbon 3, and returns to the detector 19a without any loss in light quantity. It is unlikely that the ribbon sags at this part. |
