PRESSURE CASTING DEVICE FOR MEMBER HAVING APERTURE

PURPOSE:To cast a member having high strength in the stage of pressure casting of a member having an aperture such as a rim for a vehicle or the like by forming the sprue of a casting cavity into an inverted circular cone shape, interposing a water cooled extension part thereon and cooling and solifidying a molten metal under pressure. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal in a melting tank 10 in a heating chamber 1 in the lower part is forced into the casting cavity 13 formed of die bodies 3, 4 by the high pressure gas supplied through a conduit 11. The molten metal pressurized by the gas passes through a stalk 14 and is charged through an inverted circular cone shaped sprue 9 formed to the body 3 into the cavity 13. An internally water-cooled extension part 18 from another die member 4 is preliminarily positioned to face the sprue 9. The pressure of the gas for pressurization is measured with a gage 16 and the supply of the gas is stopped after confirmation that the molten metal is filled in the cavity 13. A pressurizing punch 6 is then depressed downward by a cylinder 8 to cool and solidify the unsolidified melt in the cavity 13 under the pressurized condition. A rim for a vehicle or the like having an excellent strength characteristic is thus cast.
