<p>1-(1,1-biphenyl)-4-yl phenyl methyl) 1-H-imidazole of formula (I) is made by reaction of 4-phenyl benzidryl chloride with trialkyl silimidazole contg. 1-4C alkyl gps. Reaction is in an inert solvent e.g. chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons esp. CH2Cl2, and pref. in presence of a base, for 4-8 hrs. The solvent is then removed by distn. and the prod. recrystallised.</p> |
