PURPOSE:To increase the productivity of coenzyme A per batch, by proliferating a microbial strain belonging to Brevibacterium ammoniagenes in a liquid medium, adding a specific amount of water or an aqueous solution of a salt together with the precursor of coenzyme A to the medium, and continuing the cultivation. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Brevibacterium genus is proliferated in a liquid medium, a precursor of coenzyme a is added to the medium, and the cultivation is continued to produce coenzyme A. A vigorous aeration and agitation is necessary in the former proliferation stage, but the latter cultivation can be carried out under weak aeration and agitation. Accordingly, the volume of the culture liquid is suppressed to 50-80% (especially 60-70%) of the volume of the tank, and is increased by 10-150% in the latter cultivation stage by adding water or an aqueous solution of a salt to the medium. |
