PURPOSE:To set injection rate pattern of same condition over entire region of engine rotation by performing variable control of pressure in pressure feed pump chamber on unit injector for Diesel engine through opening/closing of a plurality if feed ports. CONSTITUTION:Fuel injection system is provided with fuel injection pump chamber 78 formed with injection plunger 59 to be fitted with injection cylinder 52, and pressure feed pump chamber 56 formed with pressure feed cylinder 51 and pressure feed flunger 55 while an unit injector 12 for transmitting the driving force of pressure feed plunger 55 through fuel filled in said chamber 56 to injection plunger 59 thus to inject fuel with the pressure in injection pump chamber 78 is provided. Fuel is fed with correspondence to the operating state to the injection pump chamber 78 while regulated amount of fuel is fed at setting time where a plurality of feed ports 60, 68 having different diameter are opened to said chamber 56 and one of them is opened/closed by means of a control mechanism. |
