<p>The valve stem and gasket (23) assembly has a valve stem with two axially spaced peripheral shoulders for retaining the gasket between them. The gasket has multiple fingers (59) which are resilient and adapted to pass over the first retaining shoulder when in a deflected condition to aid assembly, and to engage the first shoulder to prevent disassembly. The gasket interfits with and is retained between the shoulders when the fingers are relaxed. The valve can have a valve stem shaft and a valve stem plug, with the shoulders for retaining the gasket formed on the plug.</p> |
