A container 1 acting as a storage enclosure and as a tube for launching a missile 5 comprises an integral system for handling the exhaust gases of the missile, which comprises an exhaust-gas deflector 13 placed so as to receive these gases and to cause them to pass around and on the inside of a series of conduits 14 which run along the missile as far as the end of the container allowing the exit of the missile, said end comprising a cover 10 which can open and which closes both the exit of the missile and the exits of the conduits. The deflector, which preferably has an annular shape, may comprise perforations 15 leading to a chamber within the container and at the rear of the deflector, the chamber serving for absorbing some of the transient pressure peaks which can develop on the missile side of the deflector. <IMAGE>
