Process for manufacturing a hollow body formed by the joining of two rigid complementary shells and by an impervious outer envelope made from natural or synthetic rubber. A preform is moulded with the rubber provided for constituting this envelope, the preform adopting the shape of a shell 2 corresponding to a portion of this envelope limited by a plane perpendicular to the plane in which, subsequently, the two inner shells 3 and 4 will be juxtaposed. With the shell 2 thus moulded being held in the mould piece 5, the two inner rigid shells 3 and 4 are placed inside this shell. Finally, by applying a complementary mould piece 12 capable of forming the outer wall of the remaining portion of the envelope 1 on this mould piece 5, a mould is produced comprising an internal core constituted by the joining of the two rigid shells 3 and 4 and the remaining portion of the envelope 1 is moulded inside this core. This process can be used for producing hollow bodies containing a defined equipment apparatus and comprising an impervious envelope made from moulded rubber. <IMAGE>
