The drive unit possesses a housing (1) with two battery-driven electric motors attached to either side. The housing (1) contains a differential control actuable by a joystick (2) with two electronic load resistors for control of the motor. One driving roller is located on each driving shaft of the motors. The unit formed from housing and motors is removably suspended from guide rails (4) on the back of the wheel-chair backrest in such a way that the drive rollers each come to rest on a rear wheel of the wheelchair. The entire unit can be pushed downwards in such a way that the drive rollers are in driving connection with the associated wheelchair wheel. <IMAGE> |
