PURPOSE:To improve the significance of a conversion buffer by counting how many times the address conversion buffer is not used effectively while a processing program generates a virtual address at the specific number of times and switching algorithm address for conversion buffer entry number generation according to the value. CONSTITUTION:The output of the virtual address register 1 of a processing program is passed through entry number generating circuits 2 and 3 which use different algorithm and selected by a selecting circuit 4 controlled through a signal line 104, and this is sent to the address conversion buffer 5 and used to specify an entry number. Virtual addressed and actual addresses are stored in the conversion buffer 5 in corresponding relation, and a comparing circuit 7 makes a comparison with virtual addresses of the processing program, so that they coincide with each other, it is decided that the actual addresses are effective. A counter 9 counts the number of times of the virtual address generation of the processing program, and a counter 10 counts the number of times of insignificance of actual addresses. The signal on the signal line 104 is switched according to the ratio of both counted values. |
