A hydraulic pressure cushion for use on a mine prop has a seal which consists of a filling pipe (6) which sits on the pressure chamber and can be permanently squeezed together. This seal is simple and remains tight up to the maximum pressures. The filling pipe (6) preferably has an insert (9) made of a piece of flexible tubing. A squeezing tool with press jaws (16; 17) matched to the filling pipe (6) is provided as an accessory. <IMAGE>
