PURPOSE:To achieve a clear printing at a high speed demonstrating features of both printings by performing a printing by types and a dot matrix selectively as desired at different positions on one sheet of printing paper. CONSTITUTION:A printing section 4 rotates a type disc 7 to strike the back of a selected type section 6 and print a printing paper on a platen 1. A printing section 5 is provided with a print head 10 for print the said printing paper by a dot matrix. When a printing signal is inputted selectively into the printing sections 4 and 5 with the printing paper inserted onto the platen 1, a solenoid 14 works to shift a printing ribbon 12 to the printing point of the printing section 4 or 5 selected with the rotation of a ribbon operating member 13 so that a printing is performed by the type section 6 or the dot matrix at different printing points on the printing paper in a proper combination. Thus, a printing for a surface or the like can be done clearly and at a high speed by making the dot matrix share the printing of rules and the type section 6 the printing of characters within the rules. |
