Trimelamine triphosphate of the composition (C3N6H6)3.H5P3O10 whose crystal structure is characterised by the X-ray diffraction diagram <IMAGE> is prepared from melamine and a salt of triphosphoric acid in the presence of a solvent and a strong acid.
