A device for the stable standing of a book, a document file, a loose-leaf collection, a ring binder, a folder or the like, each of which have two outer sides, optionally with variable spacing corresponding to the thickness of the enclosed sheets, having a securing part which is to be connected to the two outer sides, but detachably to at least one, and consists of at least one fixing part and one transverse part, the securing part furthermore consisting of a closure part which is fixedly attached to one of the outer sides and has a retaining region extending at least partially at a distance from the outer side in order to retain the transverse part or, optionally, a matchingly designed counter-holding region of the transverse part, in the closed state of the securing part.
