In the case of a power-assisted control device (1) for gear shift clutches in motor vehicles a pressure medium source (2) is connected by way of branch pipe connections (4, 5, 6, 7) to a gear cylinder (3), which in turn is mechanically connected to the gear shift clutch. A 4/2-way reversing valve (9), by means of which the front and rear chambers (10 and 11) of the control piston (12) of the gear cylinder (3) can be pressurised and vented, is assigned to the output side of the pressure medium source (2) and a manually operatable is assigned to the output side of the latter 3/2-way valve (8) with a through flow position. The 3/2-way valve (8) contains a venting connection (13) to the atmosphere. In operation of the power-assisted control device (1) the two-position reversing valve (9) can be manually preset to one of the two positions. If the 3/2-way valve (8) is then manually switched through against the force of a spring, compressed air passes from the pressure medium source (2) either to the front chamber (10) or the rear chamber (11) of the two-position gear cylinder (3) in order to shift the gear shift clutch, the other chamber - rear chamber (11) or front chamber (10) - of the gear cylinder (3) respectively being vented. The control piston (12) of the gear cylinder (3) can be connected to a cam (14), which in at least one of the two control positions operates a switch (15) of an optical or acoustic display (16). <IMAGE>
