PURPOSE:To raise the running accuracy of a carriage by such a structure that an insertion force to form a supply path does not act on a sliding shaft on which the carriage with a recording element moves. CONSTITUTION:When printing on a recording paper is ended, a head carriage 31 is stopped on a position where a light shield plate 45 interrupts a photo interrupter 44, and a cap carriage 51 moves to the direction of B. A cap 46 comes into contact with the nozzle of a head 31. When a motor 61 turns, a stopper 55 collides with a stopper receiver 56 by a plate spring 52, and the cap 46 closely contacts with the tip of the head by the force of the spring 52. When the motor 61 is further turned, a carriage 63 pressed on the stopper 69by a spring 68 moves toward the direction of C, and a tube connecting unit A comes into contact with connectors 42 and 43 fixed to the carriage 39. The movement of the carriage 63 is transmitted to the plate 96 and then to a needle pipe 97 through a flange ring 100. |
