PURPOSE:To improve the plating property of an acetal resin, by mixing the acetal resin with a urea/formaldehyde condensate, or both of this condensate and an alkaline earth metal hydroxide or aluminum hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:The purpose acetal resin composition is formed by mixing the acetal resin with 3-20wt% urea/formaldehyde condensate or 3-20wt% mixture of a urea/formaldehyde condensate with an alkaline earth metal hydroxide or aluminum hydroxide at a weight ratio of 8:1-1:8. By etching a molding formed from this resin composition with an aqueous acid solution (e.g., aqueous sulfuric acid solution) before chemical plating, the surface of the molding can be easily roughened and, therefore, a plated molding excellent in peeling strength can be easily obtained without detriment to the excellent properties of the resin. |
