Air-conditioning system with variable volume flows

The air-conditioning system includes a hot air main (3) in which only recirculated air is conveyed, and a cold air main (4) in which only outside air is conveyed. The air mains (3,4) are connected by mixing boxes (5) to form a supply air stream, each mixing box (5) having a mixing flap (17) and a volume flow controller (18) in the supply air stream. The volume flows are variable and the temperature is kept constant in both air mains (3,4). The temperature in the hot air main (3) is kept at a value such that the rate of outside air required for hygienic reasons is maintained at the outlet from each mixing box (5) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
