A four-wheel multi-purpose vehicle designed especially for agricultural use and capable of road travel has an interchangeable-bridge carrier chassis (20) which is provided with a Diesel-hydraulic drive unit (26) and the travelling drive of which can be adjusted down to travelling speeds of below a 100 m/h by means of hydraulic power transmission. The chassis can have single-wheel drive and single-wheel suspension, in which case the wheels (28) can be capable of being brought into two basic positions differing from one another by 90 DEG , in order make the vehicle capable of travelling in the transverse and in the longitudinal direction. Appliance suspensions (30) and/or power take-off shafts (34) can be provided at various points on the chassis and/or the interchangeable bridge (4). The interchangeable bridge can consist, for example, of a platform, a box, a container, or a tank, if appropriate in conjunction with further appliances. <IMAGE>
