A high performance integrated circuit digital-to-analogue converter (10) is extended in resolution by the addition of one or more switchable current sources (15, 16) responsive to the least significant bits of the input digital number signal to be converted for providing binary weighted currents which are combined with the output of the integrated circuit digital-to-analogue converter to provide a higher performance, high resolution converter at minimal cost. |
