A description is given of a tool for punching openings in thin-walled bodies, e.g. metal sheets, the said tool comprising a punch, a die, a tie rod and an actuating device using which the punch and the die are pressed together by means of the tie rod. To make openings in non-planar bodies, e.g. tubes, the bearing surfaces of the die on the body are matched to the shape of the latter.
