PURPOSE:To resolve unnatural patterns independent of display contents and to improve the display quality by not only shifting relative positions of picture elements, which are arranged in a matrix in the display part of a liquid crystal display device by a half pitch but also optimizing the shifting manner. CONSTITUTION:In the figure, (a) is a deviation of matrix pitch between the i-th line and the (i+1)th or (i-1)the line when the area of the light-transmissive area of a certain unit cell in the i-th line is divided equally to right and left parts and equal division is continued further and each unit cell is arranged relatively so that it coincides with a line intersecting a maximum-length bisector in the X direction at right angles. (b) is a deviation of matrix pitch between the i-th line and the (i+1)th or (i-1)th line when each unit cell is arranged relatively so that it coincides with a maximum length vertical bisector in the X direction of the light-transmissive area of a unit cell nearest to two unit cells in the (i+1) or (i-1)th line. Individual unit cells are arranged relatively so that the deviation (x) of matrix pitch between the i-th line and the (i+1)th line is a middle value between (a) and (b). In case that this liquid crystal panel is used for color display, R (red), G (green), and B (blue) color filters may be arranged. |
