PURPOSE:To prevent surely the disconnection or the like of an optical fiber due to torsion and rotate certainly a photoelectric composite rotary connector on the same axis as a drum by forming the photoelectric composite rotary connector with a rotary connector for optical fiber connection and a rotary connector for electric wire connection. CONSTITUTION:A rotary connector A for optical fiber connection is constituted with a rotating body 5, which is fixed to a drum 1 coaxially by an attaching plate 9 and is rotated together with the drum 1 and holds a drum-side optical fiber 3a, and a free body 6 which has a holding tool 6d in the center of a body 6a connected to the rotating body 5 coaxially and freely rotatably and approximates the end face of an optical fiber 3b of the measuring instrument side held by this holding tool 6d to the end face of the optical fiber 3a and bunts and connects them. A connector B for electric wire connection is constituted with a rotating body 7 which is fixed to the outside peripheral surface of the rotating body 5 and is provided with a prescribed number of ring-shaped contacts 7a, to which the terminal of drum-side electric wires 4a are connected, on the outside peripheral surface and a free body 8 which has ring- shaped contacts 8a brought into contact with ring-shaped contacts 7a and external connection terminals 8b to which electric wires 4b of the measuring instrument side are connected.
