PURPOSE:To provide a resin compsn. having a high heat distortion temp. and excellent physical properties during long-term service, by blending an epoxy compd. and a specified metal salt of an org. carboxylic acid with a polyethylene terephthalate resin. CONSTITUTION:The titled compsn. is obtd. by incorporating 0.02-5pts.wt. epoxy compd. (A) such as diglycidyl terephthalate and 0.01-5pts.wt. Group I a or IIa metal salt of an org. carboxylic acid (B) such as sodium palmitate in 100pts.wt. polyethylene terephthalate resin (C) (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate cotg. a polyoxyalkyene compd. contg. a metal salt of an org. acid). By incorporating the compds. A and B in the resin C, the resin is freed from the disadvantages of being liable to cause fluctuation in heat distortion temp. or to reduce physical properties during long-term service, and a compsn. having a high heat distortion temp. and excellent physical properties during long-term service can be obtd.
