The invention relates to a houseshoe or slipper with an insole and an outsole, as well as a device for keeping the feet warm. Arranged between insole 3 and outsole 4 is an electrically heatable heating mat 5. The heating mat 5 consists of a net of resistance wires 8 which are mounted in an insulating layer 9. The heating mat 5 is connected to a connection piece 10 on the houseshoe or slipper, which, by means of an extension cable, can be connected to e.g. a socket with voltage applied. <IMAGE>
