Apparatuses for mixing, in particular, paste-like mixes, for example creams, ointments and the like, must achieve complete blending of the whole mix, even if the batch is small. In addition, it should be possible to empty them completely and to clean them easily. Known apparatuses of this type meet these requirements only in part. The invention therefore proposes an apparatus in which the mixing vessel (10) is arranged at an angle in a frame (14), with a central drive (18) of the agitator (anchor agitator 15) from the bottom of the mixing vessel (10). As a result of the inclined position of the mixing vessel (10) complete blending of the mix is possible, including blending in the vertical direction. In addition, the inclined mixing vessel (10), as a consequence of the centred drive, has an eccentrically positioned outlet port (19) which - as a result of the inclined position of the mixing vessel (10) - nevertheless is located at the lowest point thereof. Complete emptying, and the mixing of small batches, are likewise ensured by this arrangement. The cover (13) of such a mixing apparatus can easily be swung open by means of a hinge (33), for easy cleaning of the apparatus. <IMAGE>
