Monitoring and control device in collating systems

The invention relates to a monitoring and control device in collating systems, especially for collating and joining sheets in continuous sections, such as continuous sections for the saddle stitching of leaflets. The aim of the invention is to produce a monitoring and control device of this type which can be used in a variable fashion and exhibits a high degree of operational reliability. The technical object of the invention is to design the device in such a way that the conveying device can be operated with format-adjusted separation and different feeding of the feeding systems, and that mechanical impairment of the sheets or feeders during the control operations is prevented. The object is achieved in that a device which activates the sensor device and switches the station in question on and off is assigned at least to each sensor device of the feeding stations, a shift register with a number of shift elements which equals the number of sheets between this station and the next one is assigned to all stations, the said shift registers are connected to a display device, and a device for changing the format and modifying the feeding action is arranged downstream.
