PURPOSE:To obtain a product excellent in dimensional accuracy by adjusting the movement of a rolling roll in the thrust direction by moving a taper body provided to the side of a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:A thrust retaining device 10 is made horizontally rotatable with respect to a housing 1 by a pin 100, and its one end 10a is in contact with the projection 40 of a chock yoke 4. A taper body 11 is positioned to sandwich the projection 40 between it and the end 10a, and a taper body 12 is in contact with the end 10b. The taper bodies 11 at the left and right sides of yoke 4 are lifted by the quantity required in accordance with the moving quantity of a roll A with the aids of driving devices 13. When the taper body 12 is pushed downward by the device 14 because of a gap produced between the projection 40 and the body 11, the device 10 is turned to press the projection 40 to the side of body 11 in order to move the yoke 4. In this way, the movement of roll A in the thrust direction is adjusted rapidly and precisely to improve the dimensional accuracy of a product. |
