PURPOSE:To operate a presser and a pressing plate continuously by forward and backward movements of a pressing body and to crush empty cans continuously by supporting the presser which crushes the central parts of the empty cans and the pressing plate which crushes the other parts of the cans in the same direction on the pressing body. CONSTITUTION:The empty can A of a can crushing base 11 is crushed in the central part by a presser 16, and in the parts at both ends of the can A, the top end parts thereof are held drawn to the inner side. Thefeafter, a pressing plate 15 descends together with a pressing body 14 to crush both end parts of the can A gradually toward the inner side, thus crushing the entire part flat. When a pressing body mechanism 13 ascends upon ending of the above-described stage, the flatly crushed can A does not receive the effect of a can detaining mechanism 30 at all; therefore, the can falls by gravity along a crushing surface 11A which is the slope of the base 11 and drops into a cage body 3 through a discharge port 12B. |
