PURPOSE:To attain the release of write protect without giving any trouble such as sticking a seal to a WPT notch by providing a function to release the write protect in a flexible disc drive. CONSTITUTION:The WPT detection section 10 detecting the application of the write protect (WPT) and a WPT release signal generating section 20 are provided in a flexible magnetic disc drive (FDD). A WPT signal detected by the detection section 10 normally passes through a WPT control section 30 and is inputted to the FDD control section 40 to attain write inhibit state. In applying forcibly the write, a WPT release signal from the release signal generating section 20 is inputted to the control section 30 and it is informed to the control section 40 as if no WPT were applied. Thus, the write without trouble of sticking a seal to the WPT notch is attained. |
