PURPOSE:To improve the degree of arc concentration and to stabilize an arc with a plasma torch by specifying the diameter of a rod-shaped electrode, the aperture diameter and thickness of a nozzle for restraining the plasma arc and the aperture diameter of a nozzle for ejecting the plasma arc. CONSTITUTION:The diameter of a rod-shaped electrode 2 of a plasma torch for powder build-up welding as designated as De(mm.), the aperture diameter of a nozzle 9 for restraining a plasma arc as designated as Dr(mm.) and the thickness thereof as Tr(mm.) and the aperture diameter of a nozzle 12 for restraining the plasma arc as Ds(mm.) are regulated to the range of attaining the relations Dr= (0.6-0.9)XDs, Tr=(0.9-1.1)XDr, De>=0.9XDr. The current density of the electrode 2 is preferably set at <=13.5A/mm.<2>. The consumption of the electrode 2 is thus reduced, the amt. of the deposited metal is made constant and the satisfactory build-up welding is accomplished. |
