A composition for the diagnosis and therapy of tumours is described and contains an aldehyde of the formula I RCHO in which R is a hydrogen atom, a straight-chain or branched hydrocarbon group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and, where appropriate, an alcohol of the formula II RCH2OH in which R has the meaning indicated above. The composition is used together with loaded liposomes. Administration of the composition results in a considerable improvement in the permeability of the liposomes through tissue cell walls, and the labelled liposomes accumulate around and in the malignant tumour. |
