PURPOSE:To rearrange vertical rolls safely and surely and to reduce the width of a rolling mill by providing a hook capable of moving up and down freely in the vertical direction and opening and closing in the width direction of a rolling material and hanging a roll unit to draw out it to the direction parallel to the rolling direction. CONSTITUTION:A hook 22 is attached openably and closably to the bottom end of a piston rod 19 of a hydraulic cylinder provided vertically to a stand 12 of rolling mill through a holding member 21 and pins 23. The hook 22 is made possible to move vertically and to open and close by moving the member 21 vertically along rails 26 through rolls 27. The hook 22 is led to the bottom end by lowering the piston rod 19 after turning and retreating a roll spindle to the outside. The hook 22 is closed by a cylinder 25 to hang and lift a roll unit. The unit is pushed by a cylinder 31 to move it on rails 30, laid parallelly to the rolling direction, to the side end. The unit is exchanged for a new one by a hook 37 to replace a roll. |
