<p>PURPOSE:To enable to obtain a desired brake force in a high speed range without increasing main circuit devices by utilizing a main resistor used in a power drive mode as a brake resistor. CONSTITUTION:When a regenerative brake is applied in a range of a speed V0 of higher, cam switches R17 and R11-R14 are closed to insert a portion designated by the symbol R of a main resistor MR in series with an armature A. When the regenerative brake is applied in this state and the speed of an electric railcar decreases lower than the V0, it closes a cam switch R15, then closes the switch R17 to form a circuit to which a series resistor is not inserted. Thus, brake characteristic can be improved without increasing the device mounting space.</p> |
