The endless winch cable tension regulator is used in drum type winches as used in cableways, lifts and cranes. The rope drum is separated into two drum halves (4, 5) by a partitioning plane at right angles to the drive shaft (1). The drum halves (4, 5) have equal dias. One drum half (4) is keyed on the drive shaft and rotates with this shaft. A coupling connection is provided between the shaft and the second drum half. This coupling connection forms a free wheeling arrangement.
