PURPOSE:To improve the combustion characteristic and reduce noise likely to be generated at the time of low-temp. starting by forming a jet, connecting the main combustion chamber with a convolutional combustion chamber, from a round hole as major portion and groove-shaped slits having a uniform profile. CONSTITUTION:At the top of a convolutional combustion chamber 1, a fuel injection valve 5 is installed with its injecting direction facing the center P1 of said combustion chamber 1. A jet 6 is connecting this convolutional combustion chamber 1 to a main combustion chamber 7, wherein the axis O4-O4 of the jet 6 is inclined so as to be eccentric toward the center of the main combustion chamber 7 as approaching the main combustion chamber 7 from the convolutional combustion chamber 1. The jet 6 shall be provided with a uniform profile consisting of a round hole 6a at the center as constituting major portion and a pair of parallel groove-shaped slits 6b in smooth connection to said round hole 6a. This can provide a perfect mixture gas in the convolutional combustion chamber 1 to ensure a well improved combustion characteristic and a reduced noise likely to be generated at the time of low-temp. starting. |
