PURPOSE:To maintain stably the flow of a developer and to obtain stable image quality by performing conveyance of a developer by magnetic foece, regulation of a layer thickness and recovery of the developer. CONSTITUTION:A developing device has a case 1 contg. a developer 4, a photosensitive drum 2, the 1st conveying pole S3 in a magnet roller 6 and the 2nd conveying pole N3 which is provided forward of the conveying direction than the pole S3 and having an inverted polarity. The developer 4 in the case 1 is attracted and conveyed by the poles S3, N3 and is supplied to the drum 2. A member 7 for regulating layer thickness which regulates the layer thickness of the developer 4 conveyed by the roller 6 is provided between the conveyance poles S3 and N3. A recovering plate 8 for recovering again the developer which is regulated in the layer thickness by the member 7 and is made excess to the case is further provided. The plate 8 is installed at the inclination slightly gentler than the angle of repose of the developer 4 from the position where the distance of the front end thereof from a developing sleeve 24 and the distance from the bottom surface of the member 7 constituting the passage of the developer 4 are approximately the same. |
