The auxiliary air feed system consists of four rectangular plates provided with a spacer disc at each corner. The discs are placed between alternative plates to form an air gap. Each plate has a central opening whose diameter is equal to the inlet manifold junction with the carburettor. The four plates are stacked together and fitted to the carburettor and inlet manifold flange. The spacer discs have central openings to receive bolts passing through carburettor flange and manifold. The distance between each air gap is 1mm and the combined air gap cross section can reach up to 30 per cent of the entire air intake for the carburettor. The air gaps are calculated to be the critical value that would produce a cross or radial turbulence in the air mixture flow.
|
