PURPOSE:To control safely the operation of an internal combustion engine by performing a fail-safe processing by means of detecting errors in a valve device which controls the flow rate of a fluid taken into the internal-combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A calculation control device E calculates the target amount of adjustment according to the operating state of an internal combustion engine which is detected by an operating state detecting device B of an internal-combustion engine A; and controls a valve device C. When a deviation between the amount of adjustment detected by an adjustment amount detecting device D and the target amount of adjustment is greater than the prescribed value and lasts longer than the prescrived time, an error detecting device F performs an error detection processing. In the error processing, the operator is notified of an error, and the operation of the engine is stopped by cutting off the fuel or shifted to other specific conditions of operation. In this way, the engine can be controlled to operate on the safe side. |
