PHOTOSENSITIVE MATERIAL FOR COLOR DIFFUSION TRANSFER PROCESS

PURPOSE:To form a high-contrast color transferred image with high sensitivity and high Dmax by processing a photosensitive material for a color diffusion transfer process contg. a fixed dye providing compound in the presence of a specified mercapto compound or a precursor thereof. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material for a color diffusion transfer process having a surface latent image type photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on the support and contg. a fixed dye providing compound which releases a diffusible dye by development under alkaline conditions is processed in the presence of a mercapto compound represented by formula I or II to obtain a photosensitive material with high sensitivity. The mount of the mercapto compound added is about 0.001-5mol% of the amount of silver in the emulsion layer. The emulsion layer is preferably made of an emulsion of silver bromide having <=10mol% iodide content and <=30mol% chloride content, and it has color sensitivity increased with a spectral sensitizing dye.
