PURPOSE:To produce isoserine in high yield, by reacting the cultured product, the cell or the treated cell of a specific microbial strain with beta-hydroxyaspartic acid. CONSTITUTION:For example, Pseudomonas chlororaphis ATCC12354 is cultured aerobically in a conventional medium at about 30 deg.C for about 24hr. The cultured liquid, microbial cell or treated cell is made to react with beta-hydroxyaspartic acid in an aqueous solution at 10-70 deg.C under or without agitation to obtain a remarkable amount of isoserine. After the completion of the reaction, the microbial cell, etc. is removed by centrifugal separation, and the remaining liquid is concentrated under reduced pressure. Isoserine is precipitated by adding cold alcohol to the concentrate. |
