PURPOSE:To improve graininess at the parts low in exposure without deteriorating high image sharpness by lowering a ratio of diffusive development inhibitor- releasing coupler (DIR coupler) to an ordinary DIR coupler to be added to the same color sensitive high-sensitivity layer (O layer) as compared with said ratio of the DIR couplers to be added to a low-sensitivity layer (U layer). CONSTITUTION:In a silver halide color photosensitive material contg. development inhibitor-releasing couplers having diffusivity of >=0.4 and <=0.4, preferably, the ratio of the diffusive DIR coupler/the total DIR couplers is lowered when they are added to a high-sensitivity layer (O layer) as compared with said ratio when the couplers are added to a low-sensitivity layer (U layer). Said ratio of the DIR couplers added to the U and O layers are, preferably, 20-100wt% and 0-80wt%, respectively. The difference between said ratios of the U and O layers is important when the balance of both of the image sharpness, and the graininess of the parts low in exposure are considered.
