<p>The method for forming a veneer core block for a plywood has thin wood sheets cut to form green veneer strips having a max. effe ctive width. The green veneer strips are juxtaposed such that the veneer strips are closely contacted side by side. Inclined slits are formed on the surface of the green veneer strips. Strings are embedded in the slits to temporarily connect the closely contacted green veneer strips and adhesive supplied into the slits. The strings are embedded in the inclined slits immediately after the slits are formed. The strings are coated with the adhesive before they are embedded in the slits.</p> |
