PURPOSE:To obtain display of high quality while reducing a flash by a method, in which shifting electrode groups are divided into plural blocks, one time write shifting operation transfers the information of only the block while performing the transfer of said information plural times. CONSTITUTION:A display device is formed by a method, in which a shifting electrode group 3 is provided on the under surface of the upper substrate 6 while the shifting electrode group 4 positioned among the electrode group 3 is provided on the upper surface of the lower substrate 7, further arranging a writing electrode 1, an erasing electrode 2 and sealing dischargeable gas in a space. And the shifting electrodes A-D are divided into plural blocks in the shifting direction, while four shifting buses of the shifting electrodes A-D are pulled out every block and the information of only one block is transferred by one writing operation while performing it plural times for transfering the information of all picture elements. Accordingly, a flash can be remarkably reduced by making a block division to correspond to every line of display. |
