The folding pedal cycle has a double tubed frame, the two front tubes forming the front wheel fork (2) and handlebars (3). The two front tubes sections are joined by a hinge (4) which permits both sections to fold towards the rear wheel. A safety catch (8) is provided between the two sections. The lower frame unit (9) consists of two tubes extending to the rear to form the back wheel fork, an upper frame unit (14) and a seat pillar (18). The upper and lower frame units are linked respectively to the handlebars (3) and front fork (2) frame sections. The chain is held in tension by two sprung jockey sprockets carried by a tensioning arm (9e) fitted to the lower rear fork member.
