PURPOSE:To prevent untransferred toner from scattering by providing an isolating plate which isolates an unfixed range on a recording medium adjacent to an irradiation range by a fixing device from an air flow generated by a smoke discharging means. CONSTITUTION:The isolating plate 8 is provided so as to isolate the unfixed area D adjoining to the irradiation range C on the recording medium 1 by the fixing device from the air flow generated by the smoke discharging means 5. Consequently, the untransferred range D is isolated from the air flow B generated through the suction of a blower 52 to prevent unfixed toner on the recording medium 1 from scattering. Consequently, recording quality is prevented from deteriorating and the life is prevented from being shortened owing to the clogging of a filter 51. Further, the inflow of air from a medium entrance 2 is reduced to improve smoke discharging effect. |
