PURPOSE:To provide a data-processing system capable of increasing the number of printable special characters, comprising a means for detecting character codes for special characters not existing in a character generator, and a means for generating character patterns for special characters. CONSTITUTION:When demand for printing is inputted into the data-processor 1, an analyzing part 2 scans a row of characters in printing data, and analyzes character codes. When it is discriminated that the character does not exist in the character generator 5 of a printer 4, a character pattern forming part 32 refers to a character pattern data file 31 with the character code as a key, and forming a character pattern. The pattern data obtained from the file 31 and the character code to be outputted to the printer 4 are edited as character data by an editing part 6. |
