PURPOSE:To automatically sort fractional printed matters keeping a present line by dividing a single conveying passage into upstream and downstream two systems, providing a re-sorting plate for sorting the fractional printed matters, and more increasing a speed of a downstream conveying passage than a upstream one while interlocking with operation of the aforesaid sorting plate. CONSTITUTION:When printed matters having a fractional number (a) less than a constant S are desired to be sorted from a series 4 of printed matters and accumulated, a sorting plate 13 sorts printed matters having the number of printed matters of constant S+ fractional number (a)=Z. By contrast, a re-sorting plate 18 is operated when the series of the printed matters having the constant S passes therethrough, namely when Z-S=(a), and inserted into the series, while a conveyance speed of the downstream conveying passage B, i.e., conveyors 9, 10, and 15 is changed over to a higher one than that of the upstream conveying passage A. Accordingly, a constant S of the preceeding printed matters cut off from succeeding printed matters by the re-sorting plate 18 is rapidly fed, housed and accumulated in a stapler 11. The re-sorting plate 18 blocks the successive printed matters (a) only during the time the preceeding printed matters are accumulated and treated in the stacker 11 and thereafter allowed to return to an original position, permitting a conveyance speed of the downstream side conveying passage B to be made equal to that of the upstream conveying passage A. |
