PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material enhanced in color forming sensitivity, brightness of ground and image stability and showing a remarkable sensitizing effect particularly when a high melting point color developer is used, wherein an O-sulfophthalimide compound is added as a color forming sensitivity sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid obtained by mixing (A) a leuco dye, e.g., 3-(N- methyl-N-cyclohexylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran, (B) a color developer, e.g., bisphenol A, and (C) an O-sulfophthalimide compound, e.g. N-benzyl-o-sulfophthalimide, as a color forming sensitivity sensitizer, preferably in proportions of 5-40wt%, 20-60wt% and 20-60wt%, and optionally adding (D) a filler, a surface active agent, a heat-fusible substance or the like is applied to a base such as a paper, a synthetis paper and a plastic film, followed by drying to obtain the objective recording material. |
